All right, so you want to work from home, start making money so you can enjoy your time at home, so you don’t have to drive or commute to work. Today, I’m going to teach you how to work from home and profit.
Hi, my name is Luis Congdon, creator of the Profit from Facebook course, The Podcasters Secret Weapon, and owner of several Facebook groups, and some large social media followings. Today, I want to teach you how you can work from home, and how you can start profiting today.
My partner, Kamala Chambers has created some great training around how to work from home, but I want to add a few other things that she’s already shared, but I still want to share them with you.

How to Work from Home – Write Down Your Skills
- Write down a bunch of your skills.
This is something that Kamala’s great at. It’s profiting and utilizing the skills that you already have. A lot of people will Google this, and they’ll find videos like this, and tutorials. And they’re going to go into Shopify, and all these different websites and get too complicated.
One of the things I love that Kamala does is she just says, “Write down a list of the things you’re good at, the things that you already know how to do, and the things you’re passionate about. Write these things down.”
For me, I wrote down, “I’m great at talking to people. I’m great with connecting with people. I like using social media. I’m good at podcasting.” Right there, I already have things that I can use to profit. From there, you’ve got this list. Now, you can go over to somewhere like Upwork or Craigslist, and start posting the things that you’re good at.
For example, I talk to my mom. She wants to learn how to work from home, make money online, and she said, “Well Luis, I’m good at being an assistant, managing schedules, editing, talking to people, and doing customer service.” Whoa! Those are five different things that you could start making money from today, but the problem is you need to find a place where people are hiring for this.
Websites like upwork.com and Craigslist are fantastic sites. You just go inside there and start posting different resume versions of your various skills.
How to Work from Home – Tell People About What You Do
Here’s another tip on how to work from home.
2. Start creating videos. Start making content that tells people about what you do and the success that you’ve had.
But don’t just talk about what you do. Tell people how to do different things.
There’s this awesome podcast called Grammar Girl. I love it. It’s a fantastic podcast about grammar and editing.
One of the things about that show is they dive so deep into grammar and editing that I immediately know if I need an editor, if I need someone to help write, maybe I should go over to their website. Perhaps I should hire one of those people.
If you’re creating content and you’re sharing with people what you know and what you do, trust me, they’ll find you, and they’re looking for you, but you have to get out there, and you got to start posting in places that are hiring. You got to start sharing on social media your skillsets, so people know you have that skillset.
How to Work from Home – Create an Online Course
Here’s my other tip for you.
3. Create an online course.
If you’re a life coach or an editor or an assistant, whatever skill you’re sharing, and you’re doing online, you’re probably sharing this thing over and over.
Kamala Chambers is the queen of online courses, and she’s got some great videos that I recommend that you check out.
When I first met her, one of the first things she asked me is, “Luis, how often are you teaching people these different things?” I said “All the time. When it comes to podcasting or social media, it doesn’t change from business or person to person. It’s all the same stuff.” She said, “Great. Why don’t you create an online course so you can automate it? You can forget it, and you can sell people your courses, and then you can raise your prices for your one-on-one time.”
