Travel The World for Cheap – Transcript

Kamala Chambers:

I started traveling without my parents when I was ten years old. Before I was even 18, I had hitchhiked across the US, across Canada, and across Europe. And, I think I know a thing or two about traveling the world for cheap. That’s what I want to talk to you about in this video.

My name is Kamala Chambers, and I’m an Online Course Launch Strategist, which sets my lifestyle up now to be able to travel the world. It doesn’t have to be for cheap, but travel doesn’t have to cost a ton of money.

In this video, I’m going to talk to you about some of those tips on how you can travel the world for cheap.

Travel The World For Cheap – Search For Deals On Flights

The first tip is to search for deals on flights because flights can cut into your travel a great deal.

One thing is to be flexible with your dates. You want to be able to go within a specific range because sometimes, it’s just one day off that can make $200 or 300 difference, and sometimes more.

I like to use skyscanner.com because I can look at all of the different travel deals and all the different flights. I can put in a travel range and see within a month what the cheapest day to travel on is. Also, I can schedule a travel alert, so I get emails every time the price drops, and I know, “Oh my gosh, the price has dropped. Now is the time to purchase that ticket.”

Travel The World For Cheap – Rent A Place Where You Can Cook

Another tip that may seem odd but can save a lot of money when you’re traveling is to rent a place that has a kitchen in it. Because then, you’re  not spending money eating out, especially if you’re traveling in places like the United States, Europe, and Australia. You want to be able to cut your cost down because eating out can eat up your cost.

The great thing about being in a place with a kitchen is that you can go out and you could find a local market or something with all the local flavors, bring it back, and cook with those in your space. That way, you can save money on food, and see what the local ingredients are like when you combine them.

Travel The World For Cheap – Walking Long Distances

Another thing that can eat into cost while you’re out of place is transportation.

Don’t be afraid to walk long distances. Walking is my favorite way to see the world. It is. You never know what little treasures you’re going to find along the way. Getting into a taxi to go across town, maybe you want to walk across town instead and see what there is to offer.

Now, here’s another great tip.

Travel The World For Cheap – Travel To Places Where Cost Of Living Is Cheap

Travel to places that aren’t going to cost you a ton of money. If you want to travel the world, I will start with things that are a little bit lower budget like Guatemala or Thailand. In places like that, they expect you to negotiate. You can haggle and get the cost down that way too.

Sometimes, just because you’re a foreigner, you’re going to get charged more. You might want to ask locals or make friends with locals and ask them what the standard is that they for things. That way, you can keep your cost down and stick to what that standard is.

Traveling the world is such a fantastic way to learn, and I promise you that it’s not as expensive as you think it is. You can find ways to keep your price down. I recommend that you get yourself out there. If you have a desire, you can do travel the world for cheap.
