On today’s episode, we’re going to be diving deeper into how to create a podcast, and how to build a show summary and tell you about what show notes are.

Also, I’m going to talk about how those can help engage the listener and increase the listenership of your podcast. And how to also help you monetize your podcast and increase the visitorship just through organic views via Google and other search engines.

Today, I want to talk to you about after the recording has been done, you’ve booked the guest, you’ve recorded it, you’ve edited the show, it’s ready to go how. But what do you do now before you release it to the public? How do you release it in a way that helps the engagement, helps your website gain traffic, helps your visitors, and helps you have a show that people want to tune in to?

One of the things that we do on our show is we do an SEO process which is all about search engine optimization.

Today, I want to keep it simple because that’s an in depth and more complicated process. Let’s just talk about the simple version of this so you can still maximize your show and maximize the attention it can get just on your website.

One of the first things you want to do is after you’ve done the recording, write a little snippet or a short paragraph about what the show was about so that when people land on your website or when they’re inside of iTunes, they see a little snippet of what the show is about. It’s a teaser.

Write a description that engages your audience, engages the reader to feel like they’ve got this taste of what the show is about but it’s not everything. Then, write some bullet points that hook the reader in, make them want to listen to the show. Because you said you’re going to find the top way that Kamala suggest for you to monetize a podcast. You’re also going to learn the five reasons why Luis believes you should have a podcast. Stuff like that and would make me think, “Oh my gosh. I got to listen to this.” So then, I would push play.

So you got some bullets and summary. Then below that, you want to make sure to always give a back link to the person who’s on your show.

If you interview somebody like Jack Canfield, Marianne Williamson, or any of the variety of people that I could use an example, you always give them a link to your website because that drives traffic over them.

Backlinks also help your site be more interconnected to more sites. The more that you have those connections happening throughout your website consistently, the more Google looks at your site and sees it as a quality website that it should feature for other people to look at.

If you enjoy books from Amazon, you can find Amazon affiliates and sign up for them. But if there are other products you enjoy using, or you feel like would be useful to your audience since it’s relevant to that episode, start looking up products and type in “affiliate.”

With iPhones, for example, I might type in “iPhone affiliate.” If it’s some other kind of product, feel free to type in the name of the product or the brand and affiliate. Dee if you can sign up to be an affiliate so you can share links to products and services that are relevant for your audience and also help you start to monetize the show.
